Adi Shankaracharya, 1400 years agom had set up four ‘Dhams’ at Dwarika, Badrinath, Jagannathpuri and Rameshwaram in the four corners of India indicating as symbols of national integrity and social cohesion. Now, this fifth ‘Dham’ will be set up in neighbouring country of Cambodia, away from India’s borders.
Emphasizing the need to set up this fifth ‘dham’ senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar said that this ‘Dham’ will play an important and pivotal role in propagation and spread of Sanatana Hindu culture and Dharma in the East Asian region.
Kumaran Swami, main trustee of the Mandir trust and resident of Cambodia said that this ‘dham’ will be set up with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore plus. Besides the idol of Lord Shiva, the temple will also adore idols of Lord Ganesha and Buddha. It may be mentioned that over 70% population of Cambodia is Buddhist.
This ‘dham’ is situated at a distance of nearly 30 km from the world heritage site of Angkorvat Vishnu Mandi which is the biggest in the world today, Kumarean Swami said adding that tourists coming from across the globe to visit Angkorvat, will also pay visit to this new ‘dham’.
Kumaran Swamu said that the foundation of this fifth ‘dham’ is already laid and the first yatra to this site was led by Indresh Kumar in the last week. The first team of Indian devotees started on November 29 from Delhi to Cambodia on its maiden visit.
Indresh Kumar, who led the first contingent of Indian devotees said that this ‘dham’ is being set up here for the first time to preach and propagate the values and ethos of Indian culture and dharma. Following this, more such centres will be set up in other parts. Indresh Kumar is the member of the trust formed to construct the fifth dham temple. He is probably the first RSS personality to be associated with this type of activity in Cambodia.
